Easkey & Bundoran Go Full Euro-Surf Fest in September

Mark the diary, wax the… er… kayak. The quiet lefts of Easkey, Ireland are about to get very busy when the village hosts the European Waveski & Surf Kayak Championships from 5–7 September. Expect 100 of Europe’s best sitting down to surf—literally—as they battle for points that lock into the 2026 World Title race. The World Waveski Surfing Association and World Surf Kayak Association both signed off, so every carve counts.

Categories run the gamut from Open Men’s/Women’s to age divisions, giving shooters plenty of action to frame. If you’ve never shot a waveski before, imagine a shortboard with seatbelts and a paddle—great for dramatic spray and mid-air paddle flares.

And the party doesn’t end on Sunday. Four days later, Bundoran (just up the road) welcomes the Waveski Adventurers World Open (10–13 Sept). This one’s all about inclusivity and pushing women to the front of the lineup after a sold-out debut in Spain last year. So yes, two events, two towns, one epic week for anyone who likes their surf with a side of quirky craft.

Full event details and entry lists are available over at Ocean FM—grab your longest lens and a rain jacket.
