You finished the TCS New York City Marathon. Now you want the pictures: the one on the bridge, the one with your family on First Avenue, the one at the line. Here is how to find them, buy a download and send them to your crew.
Step 1: Gather what you need
Have your bib number, your wave, your start time and your splits from the official TCS NYC Marathon app or results page. Splits tell you when you passed each mile, and that is how you match yourself to a photographer's timestamps. Add where your family stood, since a photographer on that corner probably has them too.
Step 2: Check the official photos
The race has an official photo partner. Runners are usually directed to its site to search by name or bib number, and results can take a few days. Check your race email, including spam, and the official race page for the current partner and pricing.
Step 3: Find independent photographers
Independent photographers upload their own sets as galleries tagged by sport, place and date. Open Explore, choose running, enter New York or the street you were near, set the date to November 1, 2026 and browse. You do not need an account to look. Galleries appear as photographers upload them, so check again over the next few days if yours is not there yet.
Step 4: Spot yourself, then buy
- Open a gallery and scroll. Previews are watermarked but full size on screen, so you can confirm it is you before you spend anything.
- Add the photos you want to your cart. You need an account for this step.
- Check out by card. Surf Snaps accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, processed through Stripe.
- Download the full-resolution file without a watermark as soon as payment clears. It stays in My Purchases, so you can come back for it later.
Photographers set their own prices, photos start from $8, and you pay per photo with no packages or minimums.
Step 5: Share them with your crew
A purchased download is yours to keep and share for personal use. Check the licence terms on the terms page if you plan anything beyond that.
- Family group chat: send the best two or three right away, with the mile and street in the message.
- Shared album: make an album in your phone's photos app and add your family and training partners, so everyone can save the full-size files.
- Email or AirDrop: use these for grandparents or anyone who is not on a group chat. Send the full file, not a screenshot.
- Post one for the world: pick a frame, add your time and tag the photographer. It helps the next runner find them.
Make the photo mean something
Add a line with the details: your bib, your finishing time and where the photo was taken. A picture of Mile 20 in Mott Haven with your split tells a better story than a finish line shot alone. If your family was cheering, send them the photo of the place they stood.
If you cannot find yourself
- Check back in a few days. Some photographers upload late.
- Try a different spot. Brooklyn, First Avenue, the Bronx and Fifth Avenue all draw photographers, not only the finish.
- Ask your crew where they stood and search that street.
- Open photographer profiles. Photographers who take bookings show their rate and open hours, so you can have your next race covered.
