Adaptive Clubs Punch Their Weight in the Heavyweight Rumble Line-Up
On Sunday, September 14, URBNSurf Sydney hosted the annual Heavyweight Rumble, with 27 boardrider clubs battling it out. Among them were Sydney Adaptive and Northern Beaches Para Surfers, proud adaptive clubs competing without concessions or special treatment. For Sydney Adaptive's Chris Astill, the event was another platform to showcase the growth of adaptive surfing in NSW. After a paragliding accident left him paralyzed, Chris credits Psillakis Surfboards for helping him get back in the water with a custom board. The club he founded now has over 100 members and hosts monthly competitions. You can read the full story on Surfing NSW.
