Sell Ironman Florida Photos Without Paying Platform Fees

A 140.6 race produces thousands of frames across swim, bike, run and a finish that can run into the night. Here is how to organize them and sell them on Surf Snaps, where the costs are short and you control the one that is left.

What you pay, in plain terms

  • No signup, hosting or listing fee. It is free to join and free to upload.
  • No Stripe or PayPal fees on your side. Surf Snaps handles checkout and card processing, so you do not set up a payment processor or pay processing fees yourself. Your payout goes to your bank account.
  • Unlimited storage. There is no storage tier and no upload limit, which matters after a long race day.
  • One Surf Snaps fee, up to 10%, only when a photo sells. You choose who pays it: absorb it, pass it on to the customer, or split it.

If you pass the full fee on, the customer sees it as its own line at checkout and you receive the full price you set. For example, a $25 photo costs the customer $27.50 and pays you $25. If you absorb it, the customer pays $25 and you earn $22.50.

Organize a long race day

IRONMAN gives you a natural structure: one session per discipline and spot, so athletes can find the part of the day they remember.

  • Swim: Russell-Fields City Pier and the beach run between laps, early morning.
  • Bike: near transition and any other spot where you shot.
  • Run, loop one and loop two: Front Beach Road, split by time of day if you shot a lot.
  • Finish: Pier Park, with a separate session for the late finishers after dark.

Name each session with the discipline and the spot, and note the time range. Athletes search by place and date, and time-of-day helps them scan a large gallery.

The workflow, start to payout

  1. Create your account. Sign up free, finish your profile and add your bank account.
  2. Cull in two passes. Reject blur and closed eyes, then keep the strongest one or two frames per athlete.
  3. Create a session. Choose the sport (triathlon if listed, otherwise the closest match), the place (Panama City Beach, with the spot), the date (November 7, 2026) and your price per photo.
  4. Upload. Watermarked previews are created automatically, and the original unlocks only when someone pays.
  5. Share the links. Post them with local triathlon clubs and in athlete groups, and athletes can also find them on Explore.
  6. Get paid. Payouts arrive by bank transfer on the first of every month, and My Sales tracks every order.

Pricing

You set the price per photo and can change it later. Photos on the platform start from $8, and buyers pay per photo with no packages. A finish-line frame, a beach-run hero shot or a late-night finish with the Pier Park lights is worth more than a wide crowd shot. For a framework, see How to Price Your Sports Photos.

You keep the copyright

A sale is a licence to the buyer for that image, not a transfer of your work. You can keep using the photo in your portfolio.

Check the rules before you list race photos

IRONMAN events have their own media and photography arrangements, and selling images can require permission even when you shot from a public area. Read the athlete guide and ask the organizer what is allowed before you list photos for sale.
