Find NYC Marathon Photos Without Knowing the Photographer

The short answer: open Surf Snaps Explore, choose running, enter New York or the street you were near, and set the date to November 1, 2026. You can find NYC Marathon photos from independent photographers without knowing any names.

The search, step by step

  1. Open Explore. No account is needed to browse.
  2. Sport: running.
  3. Location: New York, or narrow to a place such as Central Park or a street along the course.
  4. Date: November 1, 2026, the day of the TCS New York City Marathon.
  5. Open each gallery that comes back and scan for yourself.

Common questions runners ask

  • Where can I find my NYC Marathon photos? Check the race's official photo partner and search Explore for independent photographers who uploaded from the course.
  • Can I find photos of my family cheering? Yes. Search the street where they stood, such as First Avenue or Fifth Avenue.
  • Can I find photos from a specific mile? Search the location name and look for galleries named for the mile or street.
  • When will photos be available? Whenever photographers upload. Some post the same evening, others within a few days.

Use your race data to narrow it down

Write down your bib number, your wave and your splits from the official race app. Wave starts were 9:10, 9:45, 10:20, 10:55 and 11:30 a.m., and your splits tell you when you reached each mile. If you passed First Avenue around 12:30 p.m., look at pictures taken near that time on that street. Explore searches by sport, place and date, so use your bib and time to confirm a photo is yours once you open a gallery.

Where on the course should you look?

  • Brooklyn (Fourth Avenue and Bedford Avenue): fresh faces and big crowds.
  • First Avenue, Upper East Side: the loudest crowd of the race, just after the Queensboro Bridge.
  • The Bronx (Mott Haven): the quieter, more emotional stretch, on the 2026 rerouted course.
  • Fifth Avenue and Central Park: the final climb and the finish.

Independent photographers pick their own spots, often in places official coverage does not focus on, so a spot you did not expect may have your best frame. For more on why, read How to Find Your NYC Marathon Photos (and Get Better Shots).
